Little Motor Boat
When we first brought Cary home, we gave her a bath in the little plastic baby tub. She hated it, and screamed like crazy. We did that a few more times, dreading it every time, then a friend suggested taking a bath with her in the bathtub.
She loves it! It's become part of her bedtime routine most nights, she and I taking a bath together.
As soon as I start the water running, she gets excited. She starts kicking her legs and waving her arms. I put her in her bouncy seat with a towel next to the tub. After I get in the bath, I pick her up and bring her in with me.
Then, I hold her out at arm's length in the water, and watch her go. She kicks her little chubby legs and flaps her arms as hard as she can. She isn't smiling, she's just looking straight up, with the most concentrated look on her face. She'll do that for as long as I hold her out. It's almost as if she's a little wind up toy. She looks as if she has an important goal that she's trying to accomplish.
