You're really pregnant when...
You feel that bathroom stalls are WAY too small. There's barely room to turn around!
You sit down on the toilet and feel a sense of deja vu. Wasn't I JUST here?
You really hate your maternity clothes. Yeah, those ones that were sooo cute a few months ago. And besides, the clothes that fit just great when you were in your second trimester either look indecent, or won't come close to covering your belly.
The receptionist at the doctor's office knows you by sight.
You can no longer see the numbers on the scale, and if you could...GAH!
Drying yourself off after a shower becomes an exercise in balance and agility.
There is no way in hell you can tie your shoes.
ok, /rant. Can anyone think of any more?
Lady of leisure? Hah!
I've now been officially on maternity leave for 3 days. It's felt really nice not to have to rush into work every morning and be chained to my desk all day. Plus, my back is feeling much better. Sitting in that chair (even though it was a great, ergonomic chair) all day was killing me.
However, I've been really busy so far. I'm working on the guitar shop's online store, and doing some other small jobs (brochure, newspaper ad) for the shop as well. So between that and running errands, my days have been pretty full.
When my mother-in-law asked me how it feels to be a lady of leisure, I had to laugh. Um, I DON'T think so.
Erick has mentioned a few times that he really likes me being at home, and I really do too. I know it's only been 3 days, but I guess it feels different since I know I'll be here for several months at least. And I know that I'll be so much busier when I have a baby to take care of. I know that I have no concept of what that's like.
I really hope that I never have to go back to my old job, at least not full-time. It would be so great to just do freelance stuff at home, like I'm doing now. We'll see what God has in store. I know it's going to be good.
