Adjusting
Here I am reading two "baby books" at the same time, trying to figure out what to do. I don't remember what it was I was looking for at the time, but this is a common occurence.
Things are going fairly well, though I've had a few rough days, as my friends who have recieved tearful phone calls are aware.
I'm so thankful that Cary is nursing well, seems to be gaining weight, and is overall pretty happy. The last two nights I've actually woken up feeling well-rested, which is great! It's a nice change from feeling like I've been run over by a truck, and that the truck is backing up to finish the job.
I think the key is having my husband around. Unfortunately, we are heading into the busiest time of year for him (Christmas, and he's in retail), so we're going to have to get creative in order for him to be around more.
Last night, Erick sat in the nursing glider and read "The Indian in the Cupboard" the the baby. It was so great! I was making dinner, and I got to listen to the story at the same time. It's so fun watching him spend time with her and see them interact. She already loves her daddy.
Anyway, I wanted to post a quick update, but now I have to get back to my list of things to do. I'll try to post again soon.
